On Tuesday, February 11th, John presented Geothermal Basics: Ground Source Heat Pump Systems at the  ACI Regional Home Performance Conference in Saratoga. ACI (Affordable Comfort, Inc.) hosts the leading educational and networking events in the home performance industry in partnership with nationally-renowned experts, offering the most comprehensive and innovative agenda.

The session discussed how Ground Source Heat Pump (GSHP) systems differ from “hot rocks” geothermal technology, the basic approaches to make a thermal connection to the ground and GSHP‐hybrid HVAC systems for buildings., and the difference between energy efficiency and cost effectiveness and how it applies to selection of a GSHP system for a building.
