John Ciovacco Instructs Builders on Changes to Building Codes

Aztech Geothermal’s President, John Ciovacco and Legacy Timber Frames’ President, Annemarie Mitchell provided instruction to home builders on changes to the new building code on September 15th and October 19th.  The new International Residential Code for 2015 went into effect on October
3rd, so any new building permits submitted after that date, are subject to the new code.  Annemarie focused on changes to design and structural elements, while John focused on changes to the energy and mechanical code elements.  These workshops where sponsored by the New York State Builders’ Association (NYSBA) through the Research and Education Foundation (REF).  These sessions were sponsored by Huber Engineered Woods and their representative Mike Duval was a great resource to participants and the instructors during the seminar.  on the code changes Additional workshops are being provided by the Capital District Builders and Remodelers Association, with John and Annemarie presenting in those sessions as well.
